Alexa's career began after graduating from Randolph-Macon College with a BA in biology with an emphasis in ecology. She took her passion for protecting endangered species to northern Minnesota where she worked on a timber wolf research project for the US Fish and Wildlife Service. She was then asked to assist on a PhD project studying coyote populations, behavior and energy use in Yellowstone National Park as a precursor to the impending wolf reintroduction.
